This comparison covers five U.S.-listed moto-style e-bikes under $2,500, with shipped batteries ranging from 780Wh to 1,040Wh. The right choice depends on battery capacity, features, price, and availability — not battery size alone. One of the five, the Himiway C5 Sport, was showing sold out on Himiway's page when we checked on September 1–2, 2026; "listed" does not mean "in stock."

This is a spec comparison, not a road test — here's exactly how we built it.

How we compared

  • Scope: moto-style e-bikes currently listed in the US with a price of $2,500 or less and a shipped battery of 750Wh or more. Lighter commuter e-bikes are discussed separately below. We reviewed US-listed moto-style models meeting these thresholds, then included those with a clear official US product page, published battery specifications, and an identifiable support path — a representative comparison, not a complete census of every model sold online.
  • Considered but not included: models listed above $2,500, models shipping batteries under 750Wh, models without a clear US product or support page, and models whose current configuration or pricing we could not verify on the official page at check time (the Ariel Rider Grizzly 72V, for example, is listed above $2,500 and classified by its maker for private-property use).
  • Data: all prices and specs were taken from each brand's official product page on September 1–2, 2026, and reflect the configuration as shipped — not optional upgrades. Prices change often; treat them as a snapshot.
  • Range figures are manufacturer-published estimates unless explicitly attributed to a named third-party test. They are produced under each brand's own stated conditions and are not directly comparable across brands; nominal battery capacity provides a useful comparison point, but it does not establish a real-world range result.
  • Disclosure: this comparison is published by AOTOS, and two of our own bikes appear in it. We've kept the criteria mechanical (price, capacity, shipped features) so you can check every line against the linked sources.
  • We have not ridden all of these bikes on a unified test route. Where we cite ride impressions, they're attributed to third-party reviewers.

*Ride1Up publishes a shared 30–60-mile estimate that varies by battery, rider weight, terrain, incline, and assist level; the HT and FS ship different battery capacities, so treat it as a model-level figure rather than trim-specific.

One bike commonly cross-shopped against this group sits just outside it: the Himiway C5 Ultra ($2,599 when checked — torque sensor, hydraulic brakes and air shock, but over the $2,500 line). The Segway Xyber is included only as an off-road category reference, not in the main comparison.

How to read range claims

The range figures in the table are manufacturer-published estimates, not results from a shared test protocol. Read the stated conditions for each model before comparing the numbers. Three principles keep the comparison honest:

  1. Nominal battery capacity provides a useful comparison point, but it does not establish a real-world range result. Shipped watt-hours tell you how much energy each bike carries; they don't predict range across different bikes by themselves, because motor efficiency, weight, tires, voltage platform, and assist settings all play a role.
  2. Throttle riding uses more energy — by an amount that varies. Throttle-heavy riding can use more battery energy than low-assist riding with substantial rider input. The difference depends on speed, terrain, rider weight, temperature, and the bike's configuration; there is no universal percentage reduction.
  3. Price per watt-hour is a capacity metric, not a value verdict. Divide the listed bike price by its nominal battery capacity to compare price per watt-hour. This is a capacity-based comparison of complete bikes — not the price of the battery itself or an overall value score. At the September 1–2 prices in the table, the Flux X26 works out to about $1.97 per watt-hour and the Revv1 FS to about $2.01 — a small spread that says nothing about brakes, suspension, fit, support, or the features you will actually use. Consider it alongside those, not instead of them.

Which Bike Fits Your Priorities?

Largest battery in this comparison: Ride1Up Revv1 FS ($2,095). A 1,040Wh Samsung-cell pack, a 100Nm Bafang motor, full suspension, and a 350 lb payload rating. It's a mechanically focused, deliberately simple machine: its product page lists no connectivity, tracking, or anti-theft electronics. If your priority is the largest shipped battery among the five models compared here, start with the Revv1 FS.

Connected features with a 1,000Wh-class battery: AOTOS Flux X26 Pro ($2,299). Our bike — so check the claims against the product page. As shipped it pairs a 1,008Wh removable battery and 100Nm of torque with a broader connected-feature set than the other listed models: app support with 4G + GPS tracking, tire-pressure monitoring, keyless unlock, a physical lock, and a 5.5" dashboard with synced navigation. Honest caveat: the Flux X26 Pro is a heavy moto-style e-bike, so storage, lifting, and vehicle transport should be considered before purchase. Most watt-hours under $2,000 in this group: Himiway C5 Sport ($1,899). A 960Wh pack and dirt-bike styling at the lowest price of the big-battery group, with Himiway's claimed 60–80 miles — though note it was showing sold out on Himiway's page when we checked on September 1–2, 2026. The trade-offs are where the price comes from: cadence sensor rather than torque sensor, mechanical disc brakes, and a coil shock. (The Ultra upgrades to a torque sensor, hydraulic brakes, and an air shock, but sits outside this comparison's budget.)

Lowest price with full suspension, in this table: AOTOS Flux X26 ($1,699). The standard X26 keeps the Pro's frame, dual suspension, hydraulic brakes, 5.5" display, and keyless unlock, stepping down to an 864Wh battery, 80Nm, and app connectivity without 4G tracking. It's the least expensive way into this table, and the gap to the Revv1 HT ($1,895, 780Wh, hardtail, no app connectivity listed) is a clear trade-off: suspension and software versus the Bafang motor and a battery-upgrade path.

If you'll actually pedal: the commuter alternative

Riders who expect to pedal most of the time should also compare commuter-style e-bikes (Aventon, Lectric, and Velotric are common examples). Battery capacity is only one part of that decision; riding position, gearing, overall weight, tires, and assistance settings matter too. What does a fast, long-range e-bike cost in 2026?

  • The five models in this comparison are listed between $1,699 and $2,299 at the stated check date. Within this sample, buyers are comparing battery capacity alongside suspension, sensors, connected features, and support.
  • Just above $2,500 in this sample sits the C5 Ultra ($2,599 when checked), which adds a torque sensor, hydraulic brakes, and an air shock over the Sport.
  • Below $1,500, big-battery listings exist but check three things before trusting one: battery certification to UL 2271 and electrical-system certification to UL 2849 (where applicable and verifiable), US-based service, and warranty terms. A low-priced bike with a 1,000Wh-class battery is not automatically a bargain if the brand has no clear US support path.

On paying for it: financing availability and terms vary by provider — if you use installments (Klarna and Afterpay are common in this category; check current options at checkout), compare the total repayment cost against paying outright before choosing.

Which of these moto-style e-bikes has the longest range? This comparison does not establish a real-world range winner because the bikes were not tested under the same conditions. The Revv1 FS has the largest shipped battery in the table at 1,040Wh. The C5 Sport has the highest manufacturer-listed range, but it was sold out when checked, and those estimates are not directly comparable across brands.

What's the best electric bike under $2,000? Three defensible answers from the table, by priority: the Himiway C5 Sport ($1,899, though sold out when we checked) for maximum battery, the AOTOS Flux X26 ($1,699) for full suspension plus app features at the lowest price, or the Revv1 HT ($1,895) if you want Ride1Up's motor hardware and a battery-upgrade path. If you'll pedal most of the time, shop the commuter category instead.

Are long-range e-bikes worth the extra cost? A larger battery may be worth the added cost when your regular route approaches the usable range of a smaller pack or when charging access is limited. Compare your actual riding needs and charging routine before paying for additional capacity. A model-compatible spare battery may also be an option if the manufacturer offers one.

Do these bikes need a license? Often not — when the bike's exact configuration and use qualify under your state and local e-bike rules.
